The UltraBright is a high power microfocus x-ray source designed for those applications where flux density is important. With a true round focal spot and high power loading, the UltraBright is ideally suited for use with x-ray optics. Over the last few years, the UltraBright has been featured in a number of scientific papers detailing the high equivalence of this x-ray source. In a recently published paper in Review of Scientific Instruments, A compact x-ray system for macromolecular crystallography (Nov '00), the UltraBright in conjunction with a polycapillary optic was demonstrated to flux rates greater than a 5kW rotating anode system.

The UltraBright is also well suited for applications including microtomography, x-ray micro fluorescence, and x-ray imaging.

In use with several OEM systems, the Nova600 features 90kV, 80W performance in focal spot sizes as low as 13 microns.
